I John 1:5

This is my first scheduled speaking time in Spanish. It was a five minute segment on I John 1:5. There was one wrong scripture reference during the explanation of the verse. I was referencing another verse and had said I John 1:15-16 but it is actually I Peter 1:15-16.

Piano

Delaney’s keyboard/ piano recently stopped working. It was a gift from her grandparents when she was 5 years old. She currently plays for a kids’ class on Thursday nights and is learning more and more on a continual basis. We look forward to having her play the piano when we start our first church. We have been looking here in Chile for one that we could use at home as well as take to church. It looks as if it will cost about $1500. Would you pray with us and consider what part the Lord may want you to do in helping with this specific need! It would be a blessing to us, Delaney, and the work here in Chile. If you feel lead to help with this need, you could send your gift to: MWBM c/o Chris McBryar PO Box 519, Braselton, GA 30517 (Mark as piano fund). We thank you in advance for your blessing!

Picking Up Children For Sunday Morning

Delaney and I have had the privilege of bringing some children to Sunday morning service. We wanted to give you an opportunity to meet some of them and see how the Lord is blessing.

God bless,

The Lord Has Enough

In my reading this morning of Exodus and going through the building of the Tabernacle, we see an interesting fact in the first few verses of chapter 36. We all know that the work of the Lord is no small task; there is much to do in many areas of our lives. We see that every person is important and that every person has their place in reaching others. I want to point out a truth that the children of God can rely upon in their lives and look at verses 5-7 "And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make. And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much." Wow! God always supplies every need for His children in every situation. Isn't it nice to know that not only will there be enough (sufficient) for the task, but more than likely there will be "too much"!! We serve a mighty God!!

Active Volcanoes in Chile

SANTIAGO (Reuters) - Chile's Llaima volcano, one of South America's most active, belched ash 4 miles into the sky that was blown toward neighboring Argentina in an intensifying eruption that prompted more evacuations.
Llaima, which is in Chile's picturesque lake region about 435 miles south of the capital Santiago, began spitting lava in a fresh bout of activity on Friday night. It erupted fiercely on January 1, 2008, and has expelled rock and ash sporadically since then.
State National Emergency Office ONEMI said a towering cloud of ash was being blown toward Argentina, extending 62 miles southeast of the volcano.
"The volcano continues to permanently erupt with explosions, lava flows and ash," Helia Vargas, an official with the state National Emergency Office, told Reuters.
"More people were evacuated overnight because of the risk of mud avalanches as the lava melts snow on the volcano," she said. Lava was flowing down the volcano's sides in three directions for hundreds of meters (yards), Vargas said.
ONEMI said 71 people have been evacuated from the vicinity of volcano, which is surrounded by small towns and villages as well as the Conguillio national park.
Rains overnight and ash have swollen a river near the volcano and swept away a pedestrian bridge, but there were no immediate reports of other damage.
Chile's chain of about 2,000 volcanoes is the world's second-largest after Indonesia. Some 50 to 60 are on record as having erupted, and 500 are potentially active.

13 Niños

Yesterday some of the youth and I visited an area close to the church and invited several kids to church. This morning me and another brother in the church, Hugo went to pick them up. It was a good response with 13 kids that came to church this morning. What a blessing to see the turn out. We hope to see more in the future. We'll just have to pack the cars out a little more.

Circumstances versus Facts

Circumstance: a condition, fact, or event accompanying, conditioning, or determining another: a subordinate or accessory fact or detail.
Fact: The quality of being actual, a piece of information presented as having objective reality, in fact: in truth.
We are definitely faced with many circumstances surrounding our lives. Conditions and details that determine another; but one must consider that all the circumstances in the world do not change the fact that most of the people around us; in our neighborhood, community, city, and country are dying lost and going to a Devil's Hell unless we share what we know about Christ and what He has done for the whole world!
Let's not allow the circumstances surrounding us, overrun the fact that is before us!

Who are we making a name for?

We live in a dangerous time where many do not and will not lift up the Son of God. Who are we living our lives for? As we go through our Christian lives it should be our hearts desire to bring glory to our Saviour. We see this danger way back in Genesis chapter 11 and verse 4. "And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." As there are literally thousands of fundamental works across the world; as individuals we truly need to settle in our hearts that we will make a name for Christ and not ourselves!!

January and February Prayer Letter

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends, January and February 2009

Thank You:

First of all, as a family we would like to thank everyone that had a part in sending us cards and love gifts for this Christmas. It was a true blessing to have the extra come in and enable us to enjoy a wonderful first Christmas in Chile with our family. Your thoughtfulness will not be forgotten! Ephesians 5:20 “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”

Christmas and New Year:

We did enjoy a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. We had a great time with friends and also as a family as we celebrated the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. There are so many people that miss out on the real reason for Christmas, what a shame, but what an opportunity for us as Christians to let them know what it’s really all about! Stephanie and the children made home-made sugar cookies for the neighbors and we delivered them with a Spanish gospel tract. They were cheerfully received and we pray that God’s Word will penetrate their hearts!

Up-coming Year:

We are looking forward to this up-coming year. We are excited about all the things that will unfold in the very near future. Language school will end later on this year and the time will come to plant a church soon after that. Be in prayer with us as this time comes, that we will be exactly where the Lord wants us. There are so many people and so little time!

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Chris and Stephanie McBryar
